המסע ששינה את חיי יצר לא רק קשר תרבותי עמוק עם יפן, אלא גם סימן את תחילתה של דרך מקצועית המשלבת בין סיפור

 אמנות חזותית, ושיתופי פעולה בין-תרבותיים

בשנת 2000 ייסדתי את SGK-PRODUCTION – חברת הפקות מדיה הפועלת מיפן

מאז, החברה צמחה לאולפן מוערך

 המתמחה ביצירת סרטים דוקומנטריים עבור הטלוויזיה היפנית 

 ובעיקר עבור NHK WORLD, המקבילה היפנית לרשות השידור הישראלית כאן 11

עבודתי כוללת שיתופי פעולה עם ידוענים יפניים ובינלאומיים בעת ביקורם ביפן, וכן שיתופי פעולה מתמשכים עם צוותי טלוויזיה והפקה מישראל הפועלים באזור

לאחר כמעט שלושה עשורים של חיים ועשייה ביפן, אני מביא עימי נקודת מבט ייחודית, הבנה תרבותית עמוקה

 ותשוקה לסיפור אמיתי המחבר בין מזרח למערב

Born and raised in Tel Aviv, I grew up in the creative shadow of my father, renowned Israeli photographer Moti Gidon.
From an early age, I pursued excellence – becoming Israel’s national karate champion and a member of the national team.

At the age of 21, I realized a lifelong dream and moved to Japan in 1996 to continue my studies in traditional karate.
This life-changing journey sparked not only a deep cultural connection with Japan, but also the beginning of a professional path that combines storytelling, visual arts, and cross-cultural collaboration.

In 2000, I founded SGK-PRODUCTION, a media production company based in Japan.
Since then, SGK-PRODUCTION has grown into a respected studio specializing in documentary filmmaking for Japanese television – particularly for NHK WORLD, Japan’s equivalent of the BBC.

Our work includes high-profile collaborations with Japanese and international celebrities during their visits to Japan, as well as ongoing partnerships with Israeli TV crews and production teams filming in the region.

With nearly three decades of experience living and working in Japan, I bring a unique perspective, deep cultural insight, and a passion for authentic storytelling that bridges East and West.

Sharon Gidon Kobayashi is a Director of Photography, videographer, editor, and producer. He is the president of Tokyo's SGK Studio, a full service video production facility. 

Over the past 30 years, I have expanded my professional activities beyond photography and media production to include personalized guidance and cultural tours for travelers visiting Japan.

With nearly 30 years of living in Japan, I bring a deep understanding of the country’s culture, history, and everyday life. My extensive experience includes producing television programs that explore Japan from a wide range of perspectives – and I’m proud to offer this knowledge to enrich the travel experience of my clients.

Having explored nearly every region of Japan – from Hokkaido in the north to Kyushu in the south – I can confidently say that I have seen and experienced more of this remarkable country than most locals 😆
